Half Life Eternity is an independent series written and directed by Levi Teare. With a lack of long-running TV shows being produced, Levi has taken it upon himself to return to the 24 episode season format that has been left behind by big streaming services.

With a finished script and a growing cast, episode one is set to film in September of 2026.

Don’t give me any money, don’t give me any people, but give freedom, and I’ll give you a movie that looks gigantic.

Robert Rodriguez

As an independent production, Half Life Eternity is being crowd-funded and self-produced. This decision was made due to the democratization of filmmaking tools. Free screenwriting software and more accessible camera equipment has provided a way for anyone to be a filmmaker. Which means that you need a great story to stand out.

The story of Half Life Eternity is what Levi believes in the most.

Why a series?

Having considered making Half Life Eternity a short film, proof of concept video, or even a feature film, Levi and Cassidy made the decision to pursue long form storytelling on the small screen.

Seasons of TV are getting shorter, the stories and morals are getting worse, and the time between seasons takes three to four years. There is an unsatisfying gap in the market.

Long seasons that are renewed year after year not only provide comforting and easy to return to entertainment, they also provide job space for creatives. TV shows with a quick turnover need to staffed. Providing jobs in a creative field is a major goal for &The Dragon Studios.

H.L.E. History

This project started a long time ago.

When Levi was a kid, he would draw characters and tell stories. Inspired by Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Scooby-Doo, and Back To The Future, Levi would tell stories to go along with all of his drawings. As he got older, so did the characters. Below is a review of all the characters that will be adapted for Half Life Eternity.

Adelaide Amherst:

In Half Life Eternity, Adelaide is an aspiring investigative journalist mentored by Max. In previous versions of the story she has been his god-daughter. This aspect won’t be adapted into the series, but Adelaide and Max’s mentorship dynamic will remain the same. Adelaide will contribute to the ensemble with her growing investigative skills and her polaroid camera.

Andre Nicalao:

Andre is Evacronus’ unknown and estranged son. He never knew much about his father until they met. This moment will be covered in the Pilot Episode of Half Life Eternity. Andre’s story is one of coming of age.

Evacronus:

There have been many versions of Evacronus over the years. He is the oldest of the ensemble, likely first realized on the page in 2013. Evacronus is the character that remains largely unchanged and to describe his backstory would be to spoil the pilot episode. You’ll have to stay tuned to learn about him.

Otto “Max” Maksymillion:

Max in every version of the story is Evacronus’ oldest friend. He acts as the emotional center of gravity for the group. Though in past versions he has had white hair and a beard, Max will be significantly younger in Half Life Eternity.
